Thank You

"Thank you" or merely "Thanks" is an expression of gratitude given to an individual or a group of individuals who have done you good in any ways. They may have given you some gifts, or favors or they may have helped you out of your miseries. Sometimes, saying "Thank You" is more than enough to express how greatful you are as a recepient of something good from these people.

In my recent blog posts, I have opened up that I was a latest survivor of a failed relationship. Surviving in the sense that I have tried and beginning to move on to another chapter of my life. All these initial steps will never be possible without the help and support of the people that I consider my real friends.

I am surrounded by friends both in real world and from cyberspace and the selected few that I will proudly mention here are the ones closest to my heart:

I found this guy from chatting in Yahoo Messenger. I did not expect that we will become close but whenever we start chatting online, we can talk anything under the sun, and we tend to forget how long we've been online. I became relaxed and secured talking with him, which is rare in cyberspace. He was with me during the ups and downs of my latest relationship and is very supportive of me when this relationship actually collapsed. He is the one that I mentioned in my last entry about that boring Tuesday, the one expert in text messaging. My fondness of him did not change when I finally met him in my last trip to the Philippines. Thanks a lot bro for just being there, and wasting your load because of me.

A rare gem of a friend. I met him in my gym and we clicked immediately. His own love story is somewhat similar to mine and that probably made us closer to each other. We shared our love of arts particlarly in music and artsy films. He used to be a bass guitarist in a rockband back home in Mexico. Yes, he is a Mexican and I fondly call him "cabron" while he call me "pare" in return. Talking with him made me comfortable and help ease the pain that I felt. Gracias tanto, cabron.

This is my "son" in cyberspace. We first met in an online social network and I have met him in person the last time I went home to the Philippines. Although it was a short meeting, I felt that we have bonded in our own little way. It pains him to see me go after just a few hours of talking. Dont worry kiddo, there will be a next time.

I also met Jess through a social networking and became a regular chatmate. A band member, a musician, singer and a composer, he was brave enough to open up to me about his life's struggles. I fondly call him Kuya Jess although I'm way older than him. I met him personally and gave his time to go with me to meet up Tobby. Jess is one of those who have made some effot to give me some advise about relationships. I think he is more mature than me in handling relationships. Thanks a lot, Kuya.

Cesar, Gaye, Teody, Emmy, Zeno & Ara
These are my "barkada" here in Las Vegas. They are always there for me and supported me all the way without asking any questions. Cesar particularly saved me from an embarassing situation and I'm forever thankful to him. Thank you guys, when is the next party?

My ever dearest friend Goddy. We bonded through our blogs. He was asking for some tips, and here I am feeling the expert one, gave him some tips in order for him to start his own blog. Now, his blog "A Friend Named Goddy", have some good following of its own. A recent recepient of "Honest Scrap" award he in turn grant that same award to this blog. True to his word of always reading my blog entries, he recently gave me sound advice on how to move on. Thanks a lot my friend. I'm planning to meet you before this year ends.

I recently learned about Ron through Goddy's blog links. Ron's blog "In My Own Words" was also a fellow recepient of the "Honest Scrap" award granted by Goddy. Least of my expectations, Ron was able to post a comment on one of my blog entries. Thanks for the comments, man. I am now following your blog and looking forward to your more interesting entries. I hope that through this bold move, by putting you on the list of my special friends, you also would consider me as a friend.

These are the few people that lifted me in a way out of my recent life crisis. I think it is now easier to move on knowing all these people behind me. They may pamper me with soothing words or kick me in the butt, bottomline I have to move on.

To all of you...a big THANK YOU!!!

Just One Of Those Days

Today is just one of those extra boring days of my life. I'm off from work today and still cannot decide what would I do.

Most of my friends are working today so they cant just be with me. I was chatting with a dear friend last night though until the wee hours of the morning. I woke up around 11:00 AM just in time to have lunch with my parents before they went off for work. After lunch I went back to my room and opened my emails. I need to catch up with my emails specially the account that I used for my Yahoo eGroup since the inbox get easily filled up. I need to be updated with the exchanges of messages among the members of the eGroup since I am the moderator. It is a mortal sin not to be able to cope up with these messages among your members. Aside from this, I still have to deal with another email account which I considered my primary email but mostly junk mails populated its inbox. Once my eyes got tired looking on the computer screen I decided to rest for awhile and then planned on going out and watch a movie later that afternoon.

My idea of rest actually exerted more effort and energy from me. I turned on our karaoke system and sang my heart out. Once my throat began to feel sore, I stopped singing and turned the tv to watch a pre-recorded episode of my favorite show, Heroes. After watching Heroes, I watched another favorite reality show. American Idol. Can't you see why I was still bored after all the singing and tv? I just need some company. Honestly I still missed the special person that I just broke up with. Every Tuesdays used to be our day. We always go out and just be together because it was only this day that we both are off from our respective work. I was no longer used to be alone on Tuesdays. Well, I know I can get over with this dilemma, with the help of my dear friend from the Philippines. This friend was too helpful of me today. Text messages never stopped coming and I felt I was no longer alone in the house, I felt I was talking with somebody, somebody very important to me. Eventually I changed my plan of going out. I ended up watching blueray dvd movies on my blueray player. I had my dinner, alone physically, but not in spirit. I am so thankful of this friend of mine, keeping me company for several hours through text messaging. We probably are record holders for the most time spent on text messaging. Still on my pajamas since last night, I went for a warm shower and is getting ready for bed, well not quite. I'm still online typng this entry into my blog.

That was how I spent my extra boring day.

Receiving The "Honest Scrap" Award

This is an overdue acknowledgement of the first ever award that I received for this non-sense blog. Fortunately a friend turned fellow blogger named Mr. Goddy Ramirez (A Friend Named Goddy)happened to link his own blog to mine. I have high regard to my friend Goddy because he's such a good writter, honest as well as open enough in his entries in his blog. He received this same award for his own blog and he granted this award to me. I guess he really liked the senseless nature of my entries and even if this might be considered as mere scrap, at least there is honesty in every entry that I wrote.

So what is this Honest Scrap award all about? To quote Mr. Ramirez' blog, This award is bestowed upon a fellow blogger whose blog’s content or design is, in the giver’s opinion, brilliant.” I hope you guys also agree that the giver of this award actually liked my blog. This is an honor for me and I humbly accept this. Thank you Mr. Ramirez.

As the recepient of this award comes with some requirements before I can pass this along to another fellow blogger. Again, to quote from Mr. Ramirez' blog, here are the requirements of the Honest Scrap award:

“When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to the said person so everyone knows s/he is real. Choose a minimum of seven (7) blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Or improvise by including bloggers who have no idea who you are because you don’t have seven friends. Show the seven random victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with Honest Weblog. Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon. List at least ten (10) honest things about yourself. Then pass it on!”

Of all the requirements above, I still have to choose the 7 blogs that I will find brilliant enough worthy of this award and make a list of honest things about myself. I have already bragged about it though this post so I guess I'm on the right track. Once I complete the requirements, I will announce who will be my recepients for the Honest Scrap award.

Birthday Weekend

Last weekend for me was a long one. As of this writing, I'm still off from work...whew! at least I still can regain back the loss of sleep and keep up with my gym schedules.
I have already requested some days off prior to my actual birthday so that I can have enough time to prepare for my planned birthday bash with my family and close friends. Actually it was not only successful but also one of the stressful weekend I ever had. Let me tell you first why the past days were stressful for me and then for the ending part, why the "celebration" came out successful after all.
Few days earlier I had a bad time with a special someone. A relationship ended but did not end in the right way. It was a bitter one before it became better. After everything's been said and done, I was glad that we met in the middle ground and decided to move on. This led to my one of the happier if not the happiest birthday celebration ever. I thought I got myself a mortal enemy but it turned out that I may have a good friend in the making. What kept me going also was some support from my good friend in the Philippines. I was continuously urged and encouraged to move forward and simply kept me company. Ever wonder how we did that? Through the power of text messaging! Thank you guys, you know who you are.
In my previous entry in this blog, I mentioned that I made a promise to myself to attend again that less known big event in Las Vegas, the First Friday Arts Festival. I did went back to the said event last Feb 6th with my best friend. He was the one who introduced me to this festival and I fell in love with it last month when I first attended.
On the following day, the 7th Feb, my birthday party at home was attended by mostly friends from my home city in the Philippines, Maasin City. My so called "barkada" were there in full force braving the cold (it was raining for the whole day) that evening. We were taking some booze to heat us up against the cold. To sourgrape everything, I should be entitled to take a little more than I can handle since aside from being the celebrant, I was in my own turf so I should have the advantage than the rest of my friends. Dont get me wrong, I did drink a little but I was not drunk, I kept my cool all throughout the evening. Someone kept bugging me to control myself...hehehehe. Hey, I have few reasons to celebrate as you all know.
Happy birthday to me...happy birthday to me....happy birthday, happy birthday...happy birthday to me.....here's to another year, hik!
